Angel, Sulphur Springs, Texas
Our son Angel was born at Sulphur Springs in Hopkins's Hospital in November of 2008. After going to many appointment for checkups and sonograms they had told us the baby was growing healthy. Early that morning at 6:30A.M. I had to have my c-section and my husband could not wait for the doctor to get there and get started so that we could be able to see our little boy. My sister-in-law was also there to see the baby.
I remember going in the room scared because I had to get that epidural first and I really hate needles. Once all that was done they laid me down on the bed and started to cut I could still feel everything they were doing so I told them, but they told me they could not do anything because it would effect the baby so then a couple minutes later which seemed forever they said the baby is here. My husband and I were so excited to see him for the first time but instead they took the baby before we had a chance to see him and told my husband that there was something wrong and that he was born with no arms.
While I was in the recovery room I could hear the nurses talking but could not really understand what they were saying so I asked them if I could see my baby and the nurse said to each other should we tell her. So I asked them again and when I turned towards the door I saw my husband walking in with his sister behind him. I looked into his eyes and asked him where our baby was and he said that the nurse was coming with him. I asked him if everything was OK because I could see his tears coming thats when he told me that our son was born with no arms. I started crying and thats when they handed him to me for the first time I saw him and I still could not believe it.
We still question everyday why this happened to us. We still don't know why but its just how God wanted it to happen and we appreciated it because it has brought our family closer together
